The route runs both ways. For the roughly 1,200 people who live in the valley year-round — and the second-home owners who wish they did — the same King Air is the fast link to Albuquerque: the specialist appointment, the university, the onward connection at the Sunport. Start and end your trip at the mountain. Let the city be the layover.
Two things to know before you land. This is summer seasonal service — the live timetable shows current periods. And the Moreno Valley sits at about 8,400 feet, so plan a gentle first afternoon; the bike park will still be there in the morning.
Why Angel Fire

The largest bike park in the Rockies
That's the resort's claim, and independent guides back it: 60-plus miles of lift-served trail with more than 2,000 vertical feet, open daily mid-May through October, weather permitting. Thin air is the amenity
The Zipline Adventure Tour is the highest-elevation zipline tour in the US — four lines running 120 to 1,600 feet. The golf course plays par-72 and 6,653 yards at 8,600 feet, where the ball genuinely flies farther. Honest physics, no asterisk.
The Enchanted Circle
An 84-mile loop around Wheeler Peak — 13,161 feet, New Mexico's highest — through Eagle Nest, Red River, Questa and Taos. It's 2.5 to 3 hours of pure driving, so give it a full day. We saved you six hours of round-trip highway to spend on it.
The Vietnam Veterans Memorial
Five minutes from the village stands the first major Vietnam veterans memorial in the United States. The Westphall family began building the chapel in 1968, after losing their son David — years before the wall in Washington. Now a New Mexico state park: visitor center daily, grounds and chapel always open, free.

- Red River — a mining-town main street built for lunch stops
- Taos Pueblo — optional — generally 9 AM–4 PM, $25 adult — call 575-758-1028 before going. The Pueblo closes without notice for ceremonies; those closures are cultural, so plan around them with respect
- Palo Flechado Pass on US-64 — the mountain way home to the valley
